ABOUT US
Authenticating Hands-on STEM Education
Komives ran a bioprocess engineering laboratory for 25 years at San Jose State University, training hundreds of students for jobs in the local biotech industries. Managing on a low budget, used equipment was the only way to keep the lab up and running. This model is expanded for EJI to make quality used equipment and lab supplies available to educators who must prioritize the use of the funds for supporting students.

We aim to provide equipment to educators who want to create opportunities for students to practice critical thinking skills. We want to see students carry out the evaluation of data collected from various types of equipment to tell a scientific story, to confirm or negate a hypothesis, to generate new knowledge and tools for research and to develop new technologies.

Finally, we want companies to utilize EJI as a mechanism to remove unwanted but functional equipment and supplies that are destined for landfills.
